Over 200 killed in China rains
Heavy downpours in northern China have claimed more than a dozen lives, as officials keep releasing updated figures on the death toll and the number of missing people.Authorities in southern China remain on high alert as rescue operations continue to help those affected by heavy floods. In the southwestern municipality of Chongqing, heavy floods inundated roads and stranded commuters. Dozens of visitors trapped at a local tourist attraction were rescued. Local government officials and rescue teams were ordered to prepare for any emergency.
